Dayanara Farias

Career Peer Advisor

Hello! My name is Dayanara Farias (She/Her), pronounced (Dy-AN-nuh-ra) (Fah-REE-iSS). I’m a junior undergrad at Daniels College of Business, pursuing a double major in finance and sociology, with minors in Leadership Studies through Colorado Women’s College, Chemistry, and Computer Science.

As a Career Peer Advisor at the Burwell Center for Career Achievement, I support students in their professional development by offering services such as resume and cover letter reviews (my specialty), optimizing LinkedIn profiles, preparing for networking events and career fairs, guiding job and internship searches (my other specialty), and providing interview preparation. I also share information about career programs and resources, answer general career-related questions, and deliver presentations on professional topics to student organizations or classes.

While I primarily have more expertise on undergraduate resources, I’m always ready to connect students with the right personnel and tools if I’m unfamiliar with a specific topic. My goal is to support you to confidently build your own network while offering direct support along the way, if you need it.

A bit more about me: I was born in California, raised in Mexico, and moved 6 years ago to Colorado, making me fluent in both English and Spanish. This bicultural experience has shaped my understanding of the challenges people face when navigating between languages and cultures, especially in accessing resources and integrating socially. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cat, Chencho, reading, watching supernatural videos and movies, hiking, playing volleyball, and attending any event that I find interesting.

Looking forward to meeting you!
