Contract Case Manager Compensation: $20/ hour, 40 hours a week maximum 6+ month commitment May require some evenings, weekends, and holidays Must have a personal laptop and reliable internet service Southern Smoke Foundation Southern Smoke Foundation’s mission is to create a healthier and more sustainable food and beverage (F+B) industry by providing emergency relief grants nationwide and access to mental health services to F+B workers. Job Summary The Case Manager plays a critical role in supporting Southern Smoke Foundation’s mission by guiding clients through the emergency relief process with care and diligence. This position is responsible for working directly with each client to: ● Collect and verify required documentation ● Assess eligibility and accuracy of application materials ● Build and manage individual cases ● Advocate for the client’s receipt of emergency relief funding The Case Manager will report to the Assistant Director of Program Operations and work collaboratively with other Case Managers. They will also partner with the Programs Manager to identify and connect clients with additional support services, including mental health counseling, housing assistance, and other relevant social service resources. Responsibilities and Duties – The Case Manager will independently build cases and collaborate with the Assistant Director of Program Operations and the Programs team to ensure that clients and cases are managed according to best practices. – As the initial point of contact for all Emergency Relief Fund applicants, this role must communicate with integrity, sensitivity, and urgency. – The individual in this position will be responsible for keeping the database and all associated files and records up to date. They will vet all applications by verifying employment and gathering other necessary information and documentation. – Additionally, this position will assess and determine the required documentation for each applicant to build a case while ensuring that all information remains confidential. – This role requires a high level of attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills. – Availability is required Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM Central Time. Education/Experience Required: – B.A., B.S., or equivalent work experience; Bachelor of Social Work preferred – 1-3 years of social work or case management experience required – Experience working in the food and beverage industry is preferred – Proficiency in Google Suite, Adobe, Salesforce, and Excel / G-Sheets Knowledge/Skills: – Bilingual, Spanish-speaking preferred – Excellent verbal and written skills – Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously – Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment – Ability to professionally work with diverse groups of people going through personal crises and respect for privacy – Must be comfortable with change and able to adapt within a growing organization – Must commit to treating all applicants and clients with dignity and respect Southern Smoke Foundation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
