Job Title: Development & Marketing Intern

Term: Summer or Fall Semester 2025 (extension possible)
Compensation: Unpaid (school credit available)
Time Commitment: 10–16 hours/week
Reports to: Development Director
About DCAC:
The Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) works to prevent abuse, strengthen families, and restore childhood. We provide trauma-informed care to children and families affected by abuse, neglect, and violence. Our multidisciplinary team works under one roof to deliver coordinated support, healing, and justice.
Internship Overview:
This hands-on role gives students real-world experience in nonprofit marketing and fundraising. You’ll help bring DCAC’s mission to life across digital and community channels while supporting internal communication, donor engagement, and events. You’ll build a portfolio, gain mentorship, and contribute to meaningful change in your community.
Key Responsibilities:

Design branded materials (graphics, flyers, etc.) using Canva

Support events like Clays for Kids and Colorado Gives Day

Conduct donor research and support outreach

Create internal communication content
-
Track donor interactions and help organize shared records

Monitor and report social media analytics

Liaise with staff and marketing consultants to gather content
Qualifications:

Current undergrad/grad student (Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field)

Strong writing and communication skills

Familiarity with Canva and social media platforms

Passion for child advocacy and nonprofit communications

Detail-oriented, collaborative, and willing to learn

Able to work in-person at our Denver campus
