Essential Functions:
- Assisting with evaluating academic records of applicants who studied outside of the U.S. in accordance with admission policies and procedures
- Performing accurate research from reliable sources, summarize this research, and discussing research findings
- Gathering and preparing confidential documentation during peak admissions season
- Assisting in international student data management such as tracking and reporting
- Answering assigned emails with correct and accurate information regarding admissions
- Providing clerical support to full-time staff members
- Displaying professionalism and decorum. Ability to answer questions and interact with students and families from different cultural backgrounds with varying levels of English language proficiency.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Inquisitiveness and interest in learning about different global education systems and cultures required
- Cultural sensitivity and patience to work with international student applicants who may not be native English speakers.
- Advanced research skills
Required Qualifications:
- Current DU student
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clerical experience is desired
- Study abroad experience and knowledge of a foreign language
Working Environment:
- Standard office environment with ability to work remotely.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities:
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Time Commitment:
- This position requires 10-20 hours per week for fall, winter, and spring quarters with flexibility in scheduling.
- Some evening/weekend hours required.
- Start Date – Start of Academic Year (mid-September 2025)
- End Date – End of Academic Year (end of Spring quarter 2026)
Compensation and Benefits:
- This position is eligible for a federal work-study, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.
- This position is also open to non-work study funded students.
- Students will be paid $18.81-$21/hour with the opportunity for yearly increases, dependent on performance.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
